February Newsletter
February 2026

As I write this newsletter, I am missing our church family. Due to the winter storm last week, we were unable to join together for worship service. It is never easy to make a decision to not gather for worship on a Sunday morning, but as I said recently to many of you, the decisions that we make are out of concern for each of you. So I hope you were able to stay safe and warm at home on Sunday, and I pray we are able to be together this coming Sunday!
As I was prayerfully considering what to do this past Sunday, I was reminded of a couple of things. We may close the church building for a day, but the Church is never closed! Because the Church is not a building, it is you and I!
While we may cancel a worship service, worship is about so much more than what we do for an hour on Sunday morning! (This will be the topic of the message this week)
I also want to mention, there are a few of our family that we’ve not seen in a while. Some may have headed south to a warmer climate, some may not be able to get out in the colder winter months, some maybe busy with family activities. The reasons they are missing are varied. If there is someone you are missing, please check on them and let them know they are missed and we hope to see them again soon!
Sermon Series
Glory Revealed
The Season of Epiphany is a celebration of the light that was revealed to the world.

February 1 What is Good | Micah 6:1-8 At the center of worship today is…worship. Yes, that may sound redundant and even unhelpful, but bear with me. Micah 6:1-8 is about worship.
February 8 Call to Action | Isaiah 58:1-12 Last week, we explored how Micah helps us discern whether we are aligned with God’s call to live with justice, mercy, and humility. This week, Isaiah calls us to action.
February 15 Glory Revealed | Exodus 24:12-18, Matthew 17:1-9 Transfiguration is a foretaste of the glory of Resurrection, a revelation of Jesus’ divinity that has been hidden, yet is no less real.
Lenten Sermon Series
Drink From the Fountain of Grace
Throughout Scripture and today, God sustains us in the most basic of ways—physically with food and drink, and spiritually with nourishment for our souls. This Lent, as we reflect on what it means to be human, we find refreshment in God’s overflowing grace. Using the image of cups in Scripture, we will explore our brokenness, our call to discipleship, and what it means to seek justice, culminating in the joyful celebration that Christ is risen and we have new life in him.

Ash Wednesday: The Cup of Fasting | Isaiah 58:1-12 Ash Wednesday is a moment for us to reflect on Jesus’ suffering. We partner in his suffering so that we may better see the experience of those who suffer daily and work with them for lasting justice.
February 22: The Broken Cup | 2 Corinthians 4:5-11 When things break, God can and will bring purpose and beauty out of the brokenness.
March 1: The Cup of Living Water | John 4:7-29, 39 God affirms all we’ve been through and invites us into healthy relationship, wholeness, and sharing living water with others.
March 8: The Cup You Choose | Psalm 16. Every day we have the opportunity to choose to follow Jesus.
March 15: The Cup of Discipleship | Matthew 20:20-28 Being followers of Jesus involves giving our whole selves to build a community of mutual blessing.
March 22: The Cup of Compassion | Matthew 25: 34-40 For Jesus, compassion and justice are intertwined and inseparable.
March 29: The Overflowing Cup | Psalm 23 We cannot overflow with God’s grace if we are filled with ourselves.
Holy Thursday: The Cup of the New Covenant | Matthew 26:20-29 The cup of the new covenant transforms and gives life.
Good Friday: Jesus’ Cup for Us | Matthew 26:30-27:66 Jesus drinks the cup of suffering once and for all. As Jesus drinks from this unrepeatable cup, we see our efforts to save ourselves fall short and we stand in awe and gratitude.
Easter Sunday: The Cup that Never Runs Dry | John 20:1-18 Jesus is alive! That means God’s grace will never run dry

Lenten Small Group

We believe some of the most meaningful conversations happen around a table—over shared food, honest questions, and time together. The Table is a small group that gathers weekly for a meal and conversation, creating space to slow down, connect, and grow in community.
Each week, we’ll share a simple meal and watch The Chosen, using it as a starting point for thoughtful discussion and reflection. No prior experience or preparation is needed—just come as you are, ready to eat, listen, and participate as you’re comfortable.
Whether you’re looking for deeper connection, spiritual growth, or a place to belong, there’s a seat for you at The Table.
Tuesdays at 6:00 in the Lower Level Classroom
Come hungry—for food, for conversation, for connection. We’d love to gather with you at The Table.

Join Pastor Peggy and Pastor Chris Nunley in the Holy Land. February 1-10, 2027.
