I love this time of year. There’s something almost sacred about hearing the birds singing again, seeing flowers begin to bloom, watching the grass turn green, and noticing leaves returning to the trees. Everywhere you look, creation seems to be waking up. After the stillness and grayness of winter, spring feels like a gift—a beautiful reminder of God’s goodness and the new life springing up all around us.
And I can’t help but think there is a message for the church in all of this. Just as the earth is renewed, we too are invited into a season of renewal and possibility. Spring reminds us that God is always bringing forth new life, often in quiet ways we may not notice at first. There is potential all around us—in growing faith, deepening relationships, fresh ministries, and new opportunities for service. As buds open and seeds begin to grow, may we also be open to what God is nurturing in our congregation. It feels like a wonderful season to lean into hope and trust that, by God’s grace, there is still so much life and possibility ahead for our church.

May is a beautiful season of new life and fresh energy, and I’m grateful for all the ways we serve and grow together as a church family.
Willingness to Serve
One of the joys of being part of a church family is the opportunity to serve one another and share in God’s work together. We don’t all serve in the same way, but each of us has something to offer—time, gifts, energy, encouragement, or presence. And often, it’s in the simple willingness to say “yes” that God does some of His best work among us.
Serving doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming. It’s really about a heart that is open and ready when needs arise and opportunities are placed before us. As you’ll see in the information that follows, there are several ways to get involved in the coming weeks. My hope is that each of us will consider where we might step in and serve, trusting that even small acts of willingness can make a meaningful difference in the life of the church. If you’d like to serve, you can simply contact the Pastor Peggy or sign up on the sheets provided in the hospitality room.
Seeds of Faith Ministry Team
We have a beautiful nursery, and for some time we have been praying for the joyful need to use it. And now—that prayer is being answered! As children and families are coming among us, we have a wonderful opportunity to offer a warm, safe, and loving place for our littlest ones during worship.
That also means we need caring hearts willing to serve. The Seeds of Faith Nursery Team is a ministry of welcome and care, helping plant early seeds of faith through simple acts of kindness and loving presence. This is more than childcare—it is a way of supporting young families and sharing God’s love with our youngest disciples. If you feel led to help in this ministry, we would love for you to be part of this team as we respond together to this answered prayer.
Caring Connections
One of the ways we live out Christ’s love is through simple acts of welcome and care. Our Caring Connections Team helps us do just that, and we’d love to have more people be part of this ministry.
There are many ways to serve. Some may feel called to Hospitality, welcoming guests and helping create a warm, friendly spirit on Sunday mornings. Others may be drawn to Note Writing, reaching out through cards and notes to remind others they are loved, remembered, and not forgotten. These may seem like small acts, but they can make a lasting difference.

Graduation is an important milestone, and as a church family we want to celebrate and bless our high school graduates in a meaningful way. This year, we invite you to be part of that by sharing one of your favorite Bible verses with our graduates.
Over the next few weeks, you’ll find cards inserted in the bulletin where you can write down a favorite scripture or verse of encouragement. These verses will be highlighted in Bibles that will be given to our graduates as a gift from the congregation—a beautiful reminder that they are surrounded by the prayers, wisdom, and love of their church family.
Please fill out a card and place it in the containers provided in the hospitality room. I hope many of us will take part in this special way of encouraging our graduates as they begin a new chapter.
May Food Pantry Focus
It’s almost time for school to be out for the summer, and for many families that means children are home more—and the need for food increases. During the month of May, let’s help stock our food pantry with easy-to-prepare foods that can support families during the summer months. We invite you to bring simple, kid-friendly items such as:
Peanut butter and jelly
Macaroni and cheese
Canned pasta meals
Soup and crackers
Cereal and oatmeal
Granola bars and snack crackers
Canned fruit or applesauce
Tuna packets or canned chicken
Ramen noodles or boxed pasta meals
Small gifts can make a big difference. Let’s fill the pantry and help make sure families in our community have what they need as summer begins. Thank you for your generosity!

Just a reminder…
The teddy bears in the sanctuary are Prayer Bears—meant to be taken and given to anyone who could use a little extra love, encouragement, and care. Please feel free to share them as reminders that someone is being held in prayer. More bears are available on the bookshelf in the classroom off the sanctuary.
All loose coins placed in the offering plate are used to support UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief, helping provide disaster response and relief around the world.
Our Lenten Offering for Project 216 was a wonderful expression of generosity, with a total of $581 collected. Thank you for your faithful support of this important ministry.
On May 10th, immediately following worship, we will have a short informational finance meeting. We hope you will plan to stay and hear this important update.
